Hundreds of athletes from around the world to take part in the largest LGBT sports event in the Middle East

·         1250 athletes and hundreds of spectators from around the world are expected to attend the biggest LGBTQ sports event in the Middle East

·         The city’s first ever “Pride Run - running for the youth” will take place in cooperation with IGY, the Israeli LGBTQ+ youth organization

Tel Aviv, a city that has been declared the world's best gay travel destination is establishing itself as a yearlong LGBTQ destination with events happening throughout the year catering to every member of the LGBTQ community. This year Tel Aviv is proud to host its 2nd LGBTQ multi-sports tournament, hosted by the Tel Aviv LGBTQ Sports Club and the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality.

Athletes from over 17 countries including teams from France, the UK, Germany, Greece, The Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, The Czech Republic, Norway, Suriname, Australia, the US, Canada and Russia will compete in 7 different competitions over the course a 3-day celebration of participation, inclusion and personal best. This year athletes will be able to participate in seven different sporting events; swimming, soccer, basketball, volleyball, same-sexd, tennis and a running competition.

Itai Pinkas, the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipal Council Member in charge of LGBT affairs: “The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality and the Tel Aviv LGBTQ Center are proud to support The Tel Aviv Games, the largest International LGBTQ sporting event in Israel, for the second time.  Along with additional achievements of the LGBTQ community in Tel Aviv, we are proud partners of the Tel Aviv LGBTQ Sports Club and are looking forward to host hundreds of athletes from abroad.”

Tel Aviv stands in line with cities such as Paris, New York, Berlin and Rome which have hosted the EuroGames, the largest multi-sport event for athletes, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation in Europe. Tel Aviv offers athletes from around the world a unique and exciting sports experience and positions itself as an excellent candidate to host the EuroGames in the future.

Alongside the sport competitions, participants will be able to discover the city’s many aspects and are invited to learn about Tel Aviv's fascinating history during the Rainbow City Tours, discover the vibrant Tel Aviv nightlife and meet the locals at the Bar Hopping events and enjoy the wide array of experiences that Tel Aviv has to offer from its sandy beaches to its culinary scene, its architecture and of course, its energetic spirit.
